Ground is broken!

The title really says it all, I haven't actually witnessed the action yet since the truck was in the shop again for maintenance so I had no transportation. I suppose I could have ridden the bus, but my trip to Trader Joe's with the kids via the Max was adventure enough for me today. I was told there is basically a big hole in the ground (and lots of giant rocks) and one more day of digging. I'll drive by tomorrow to take a look and hopefully take some pictures.

From here the foundation will be starting soon. I don't have a copy of our schedule (not important enough) but I think it's supposed to take around 2 weeks for foundation, which will be all basement walls and also more or less finished basement floor. The basement floor will be heated with hydronic heat so the tubing will be laid for that somewhere in there.

Steve says that with delays for inspections (doh!) framing is not scheduled to start until Oct 31, which seems fitting somehow. Still, despite delays, we have started! It seemed like this day might never arrive....
